HP Setup 7640 Troubleshooting

PRINTER NOT FOUND DURING NETWORK DRIVER SETUP (WINDOWS AND MAC)

HP feature driver sets up the printer Wi-Fi or wired network condition. If the installer does not detect the printer after selection of connection type, the following will occur. How to HP Setup 7640 Troubleshooting?

STEP 1:

RESTART THE COMPUTER, PRINTER AND ROUTER

  1. Disconnect power cord from the router.
  2. Turn off the printer.

  4. Again connect the power cord to the router, and then wait from internet connected status in a normal connected status.
  5. Turn on the printer.
  6. Turn on the computer.

STEP 2:

CHECK THE NETWORK AND PRINTER CONNECTION STATUS

  • If network signal is week, move the computer and printer close to the router and also position the devices like metal objects, book cases and also move the devices away that emit radio signals such as micro waves and cordless phones.
  • If the network is not connected, then check the network settings.
  • If an airplane icon displays, click the icon and slide it in off mode and then connect the network.
  1. Again install HP driver and software.

STEP 3:

MANUALLY CONNECT PRINTER TO NETWORK

Try connecting printer to the network manually so the HP installer can find the printer. Use setup wizard for touch or text-based control panel. After setup try installing HP driver and software.

STEP 4:

RUN HP PRINT AND SCAN DOCTOR

  4. Try installing HP driver and software again.
  • If the installation is completed then change settings such as security level, trusted zones and open ports to allow communication. After changing, then re-enable the firewall to print and scan doctor.
  • If the installation is not completed, then firewall is not causing the issue, then again re-enable the print and scan doctor and continue to the next step.

STEP 6:

UNINSTALL HP DRIVER AND SOFTWARE

Some HP software components might not have installed properly. So uninstall HP driver and software.

  1. If the printer connects to the computer by a USB cable, disconnect cable from the printer.
  2. Search programs for window and features, then select program and features in the list.
  3. In the list of selected programs, select HP printer name and then select uninstall.
  4. Follow on-screen instructions to remove software.
  5. Restart the computer.

STEP 7:

REINSTALL THE HP SOFTWARE

After uninstalling the software then go to HP customer support to download the latest feature of full version software. This ensures to the printer with entire functionality.

  1. Turn on the printer.
  2. If the printer connects to the computer by a USB cable, disconnect cable from the printer.
  3. Then go to HP customer support- software and driver downloads.
  4. Select a method to identify the printer model and follow the on-screen instructions to download the page.
  5. Click download next to full feature models or click basic driver for other driver options.
